This was recently done for the character design class with Kevin Chen and Hong Ly at Art Center.
Definitely one of my favorite classes that I took.
UPDATE:
To be clear, This is my iteration, an iteration as a video game perhaps, my take on the story Nausicaa. It's not meant to compete with Studio Ghibli's version. This not a fanart, therefore the characters may seem entirely different from the originals.

I'm not sure about this rebellious looking Naussicaä. Miyazaki's portrayal was a kind but strong young woman. Anyway its not my job to judge, I liked it anyway. It is different and beautiful
and I've liked the metalic era theme. If fits just as good as ( or maybe better than ?! ) the original ceramic era concept.
